Definitions of Agent Certifications

Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR)

The ABR designation focuses on evaluating a clients specific needs and wants and searching out properties that fit those specifications. Market values are determined by many factors, such as the availability of similar properties at competitive prices, locations and conditions. An ABR representative is trained to provide market data to help you establish the best offering price. From the initial selection of properties, all the way through contract negotiations and settlement, ABR designees are specifically committed to representing your best interests when buying a home.

Accredited Seller Representative (ASR)

ASR Seller Agents are trained and committed to deliver to todays seller true value added services. This has a major impact on the quality of representation the seller, as well as potential possibilities to the financial bottom line. ASR Seller Agents are committed to providing exclusive representation to you, which simply means placing your interests above that of others in the real estate transaction. Committed to adhering to a stringent standard of ethics, ASR Seller Agents are to demonstrate complete honesty in pricing as well as thorough research and preparation in completing and presenting the property market analysis. A further and most important commitment of ASR Seller Agents is to demonstrate ethical conduct and integrity in every aspect of their real estate career.

Corporate Relocation Professional (CRP)

According to the Worldwide ERC, the CRP designation formally recognizes those who have mastered extensive knowledge on the principles and practices of relocation.

The purpose of the CRP program is to encourage members working in specific aspects of employee relocation to gain extensive and useful knowledge of all aspects of employee relocation. A major purpose of this program is the achievement of a common and universal understanding of the entire employee relocation field and recognition of those professionals who demonstrate mastery.

Worldwide ERC has outlined the following goals for the Certified Relocation Professional Program:

  • To raise the professional standards of those involved in relocation.
  • To encourage continuing education for professional development.
  • To encourage self-development by offering guidelines for achievement in the relocation profession.
  • To identify and award special recognition to those persons who have demonstrated a comprehensive knowledge of those principles and practices of relocation, related disciplines, and laws governing and affecting relocation.

Certified Residential Specialist (CRS)

The highest designation awarded to sales associates in the residential sales field, recognizing accomplishments in both experience and education.

Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS)

Designating hands-on experience in international real estate transactions, currency and exchange rate issues and cross-cultural relationships, regional market conditions, investment performance, tax issues and more.

Certificate FIABCI (Federacion Internacional de Profesionales Inmobiliarias)

This unique Certificate is awarded to members who have satisfied the most stringent standards of excellence in their field and have shown that they are active participants in the challenging new world of international real estate. The Certificate FIABCI is a concrete illustration of the FIABCI ideal of "providing society with the optimal solution to its property needs". The Certificate is not a simple designation awarded against payment of a fee, but an exclusive recognition awarded only to those who have demonstrated the skills and experience needed to make things happen in real estate internationally: to earn the right to use the Cert. FIABCI title is therefore a considerable achievement and a coveted privilege.

Global Mobility Specialist (GMS)

Worldwide ERC states that "the GMS designation signifies that you have taken training in the specialized field of global workforce mobility and are committed to ongoing education to grow your expertise."

Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI)

The National Association of Realtors describes GRI as "the mark of a real estate professional who has made a commitment to providing a superior level of professional services by earning the GRI designation. Realtors with the GRI designation are highly trained in many areas of real estate to better serve and protect their clients.

Quality Service Certified (QSC)

The QSC designation is the only recognition in real estate that is based on customer satisfaction survey results. It awards real estate agents and professionals that commit to higher professional standards, attend specialized service training, follow a service process, and guarantee their quality service to every customer. After the service has been provided, an independent company sends the client a customer satisfaction survey. Relo Certified Coordinator (RCC)

According to Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, the RCC designation "signifies that a referral coordinator has a working knowledge of the basics of relocation and the network's policies and procedures. Coordinators feel more confident in placing referrals with companies whose coordinators have the designation because it indicates that their transferee will receive quality service and that they can expect proper, prompt reporting and referral fee payments."

Relocation Directors Council (RDC)

According to the Relocation Directors Council, its membership "includes some of the best and brightest professionals in the industry. Candidates are invited to join this exclusive organization based on experience, education, industry involvement, and a commitment to serve their clients and customers with the highest level of professionalism.

Literally a who's who of residential real estate relocation management, our members manage the relocation activities of over 250 of the largest and most diverse residential real estate firms in the country."

Relo Quality Certified (RQC)

Leading Real Estate Companies of the World describes its RQC members as the industrys superstars. Their Relo Quality Certification Program, "the first standardized measure of quality and performance in the relocation industry," is designed to recognize them.

According to LRE, the standards for the certification are "built upon a foundation of core values: company commitment, leadership, customer and results focus, education and resource allocation. Using a rigorous set of criteria, all aspects of a relocation department are carefully considered. From business plans and web site design to service evaluations and workplace environment, the thoroughness of the screening process guarantees that those approved have truly earned the designation 'best-of-the-best.' Reviews ensure that these high standards are maintained, making the certification a legitimate industry benchmark."

World Relocation Specialist (WRS)

Leading Real Estate Companies of the World believes that the WRS designation "raises awareness of outgoing international referral opportunities and confidence in promoting services to internal and external customers. The WRS Training Guidebook offers basic international referral management techniques and extensive resources to help place cross-border referrals and achieve higher conversion rates.
